Da The Serpent's Egg (1988), uno dei migliori album dei Dead Can Dance, ovvero Lisa Gerrard e Brendan Perry, formidabili esploratori e creatori di musica, una malinconica ballata scritta e composta da Perry sulla incertezza e sull'incapacità di affrontare il futuro e le sue scelte.

"Severance" ha parecchi significati e sfumature in lingua inglese, incluso "dimissioni" e "scisma", in base al contesto scegliamo questo.
"Land" è una parola molto comune in inglese, ma che non ha un equivalente preciso in Italiano, può essere sia il terreno, sia un territorio, sia una nazione, un Paese. Aggiungiamo "questa" perché si riferisce probabilmente alla terra in cui vive il protagonista, ma "Paese" suonerebbe troppo specifico.
